Vinegar Rinse
Some people feel like vinegar does smell too good. However, it can go a long way in taming oily locks and is very simple to use as a treatment. To create a white vinegar or apple cider rinse, just mix 1 cup of vinegar with warm water. Shampoo as normal, then use this rinse. Rinse out the smell completely by using warm water in the shower to rinse out your hair once more. You can feel free to do this up to 4 times, weekly. Your hair will be healthy, as will your scalp after using this for only a few days.
Vodka or Beer
Have some alcohol around your house? Both vodka and beer can be used to make great treatments for oily hair. To use beer, mix about one glass of stale beer with an equal amount of water. Wash your hair, as normal. Then, rinse your hair with this and leave for about 3 minutes. Give your hair another quick rinse. To use vodka, mix one glass of vodka with another two equal glasses of water. Without shampooing, rinse your hair in this and leave for a few minutes. Wash it out completely. You can also use this as an instant spray to rid yourself of excess oil.
Baking Soda
Most likely, you already have some baking soda in your house. Mix about a tablespoon of it with one cup of water. Use this as your only shampoo. Put it in, then rinse it out. Do this about twice per week. Or, use this same rinse in conjunction with your regular shampoo. To see the best results out of this concoction, use it at least two times per week. Use this while also cutting back on extra hair products and you will see some great results. You may also want to wash your hair less often.
