Fit to Be Dyed

Design your most flattering dress with PIOL
Turns out red is totally your color.
Ever spotted Jennifer Aniston in the pages of Us Weekly and thought, How the heck does she look that good in jeans and a white tee? Here’s the secret (besides round-the-clock Pilates): Tailoring. Yep, celebrities tailoreverything.
But get this: You can take it even further. Entering PIOL.
Instead of taking your Zara dress to the neighborhood tailor, you can have dress company PIOL create a made-to-measure frock in a color that’s perfect for you.
Here’s how it works: Visit the site and fill in the color of your hair, eyes and skin. This determines your color aura--the four colors that complement you best (tuck this info away, ladies). PIOL then takes said color way and creates a palette of 45 fabric swatches for you to choose from. Scroll through the fabrics to find your favorite. (We picked a solid apricot hue in a matte stretch fabric.)
Next, select a silhouette. Out of the five classic options, we chose a sleeveless boat-neck shift, with a mid mini skirt (but that’s just us). Finally, enter your measurements and--voilà--you’re done.
Our custom dress arrived in the mail a few weeks later--and let’s just say, Jen, we get it. And although the price was steep ($545), we can already tell that the cost per wear will be well worth the investment.
