The Case For Putting Beer In Your Hair

Danish beer company Carlsberg recently launched a line of beer-based male beauty products designed to strengthen hair and skin molecules. And we get it… guys love beer. But we also had to wonder: Should we, too, get down with a hoppier beauty routine?
Here, the lowdown:
Wait, why should I put beer in my hair? Beer is made from yeast, barley and hops, all of which contain vitamins and minerals that strengthen hair follicles and improve overall health. In other words, it’s like giving your locks an extra layer of protection.
So, do I use it instead of shampoo? Don’t go replacing your normal products with cans of Bud Light, but beer-based shampoos--like these from Lush and Redken--are great to integrate into your regular shower routine.
Intriguing…can I use beer on my skin too? You know it, girl. For an acne-fighting scrub, combine beer with egg white and honey and apply to problem areas with a cotton ball. Or, make a beer moisturizing mask by adding half a cup of beer to egg whites, lemon juice and olive oil. Leave on your face for 15 minutes for softer, smoother skin.
How often should I beer myself up? Shampoo: As often as you want. As for the face mask--no more than once or twice a week. You don’t want people to think you’re an alcoholic, after all.
