After NYFW we are moving across the Atlantic. Red buses? Tower bridge? Black hub? Oxford street? Big Ben? Yes, you’re right! London, here we come!
London is the city of million characters, one of the most diverse and culturally rich fashion capitals. The mix of different cultures and origins, and the unavoidable British humor are the things that give this city irresistible charm.
When it comes to London fashion, it’s all about the new, the future. This city is always open to new ideas and innovations, but still remains strongly attached to its long history and tradition.
London is like a young boy that comes from the royal family, but is a bit rebellious and has a wild attitude – say, a crazy colored hairdo and a punk-y style. He’s doing things his own way and is not looking for approval!
This is the best way to describe British fashion and style. They offer the best of both worlds: the individuality of East London and the polished style of Sloane Street.
1. Animal print
This print makes for an eye-catching statement look. As this trend is constantly present, make sure you have at least one piece of this statement print in your wardrobe.
2. Cropped pants
Get your wide leg pants a little bit shorter and pair them with ankle boots or with a knee-high pair.
3. Scarves… blanket size
Getting out of bed every morning is so hard… We know! It would be so nice to have a little bit of that coziness your blanket gives you with you all day long… Well, we have good news! Fashionistas were walking around London with their “blankets”. Just pull a scarf over your shoulder, or tie it up around your neck… and that’s it!
4. Mad for plaid
Can you imagine London without plaid print? No way! Plaid print was all over the city, from school girl skirts to oversized short jackets.
5. Models off-duty
The Burberry Prorsum show was the one that brought together the world’s most famous models: Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn.
But this time, instead of walking the runway, they took the front row seats. Kate Moss was in a simple all-black outfit with a fringed Burberry Prorsum cape, while Naomi chose a more elegant ensemble with an embellished pencil skirt and a fluffy white coat.
6. Dungarees
They are still stylish! You can choose denim ones or let the leather ones take your outfit to a new level.
7. Sequins
Brits have added some unexpected shine to the table! Another trend that always seems to be around, and Brits decided to show us how to wear it – are sequins. We must confess that they have successfully convinced us that sequins can be great on any outfit, day or night.
8. Like mother, like daughter
Little girls have become regular visitors of FW shows. They have joined their moms running from one show to another. Their street style was as modern and polished as their mom’s.
The only possible conclusion here is that it’s true what they say… an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!
9. Geometric prints
You are not a fan of math? Neither are we. All those theorems, triangles, hexagons, trapezoids… It could easily give you a headache! But when it comes to geometric prints, those shapes look simply perfect. It’s time to liven up your wardrobe by giving this bold trend a try.
10. Flatforms
When wedges meet flats… UGG boots got some serious competition.
Flatform shoes are the next ugly or pretty, love it or hate it, yay or nay. But love them or hate them, one thing is for sure – this love child of wedges and flats has a lot to offer. Their raised bottom will make your legs look longer and it’s definitely easier to walk in them than in five-inch stilettos.
11. A ride on the wild side
For the end, we chose a few photos of the craziest and edgiest outfits that show that eccentric side of British people. We hope you’ll enjoy! Till next trip, lovely ladies!
