Let's be real: When you see celebrities touting their "no makeup"
selfies, they're often wearing makeup. A little blush here, a little
concealer there, and voila! They have that gorgeous au natural glow. Want to get it for yourself? Makeup artist Gabriel Almodovar walks us through a fresh look that's pretty, polished, and naturally perfect.
1. Prep your skin.
Moisturizing is a key step to this look because it creates a great base for any makeup, says Almodovar. Hydrate by applying Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Moisturizer to your face and neck with your fingertips, then massage it in using upward circular motions.
2. Even out your complexion.
Using
a foundation brush or sponge, apply liquid foundation only where you
need it — covering any redness or blemishes so you're leaving as much
natural skin exposed as possible. Then go over just the T-zone
with powder to create a matte finish. With your ring finger,
delicately tap concealer under your eyes to even out any darkness.
3. Define your brows.
Enhance your brows for symmetry in length and color using a thin brow
pencil and short, slanted strokes to mimic real brow hairs.
4. Enhance lashes.
Add
subtle definition by tight lining your eyes with a flat brush, gently
pressing eyeliner into the lash line. Apply a coat of mascara to curled lashes, jiggling the brush at the base of your eyelashes for a boost of volume.
5. Add color to the cheeks.
Use a blush brush to apply a pretty powder blush to the apples of your cheeks.
6. Line & shine your lips.
Define your lips using a liner in a shade close to your natural lip color. Dab on a touch of lip gloss or balm to finish off your look. The result: a natural look that works for every occasion.
